What Data We Collect
The normal operation of the Website may result in the capture and logging of traffic data from a visitor to the Website or subscriber to the RSS feed. This includes information such as the page visited, browser type, referring site, date and time of each visitor request and the Internet Protocol address of the requestor.
We only collect this data where it is in our legitimate interests to do so to maintain the performance and security of the Website. The log data is automatically deleted after 3 days.
If you choose to sign up for the mailing list you supply us with your email address and optionally your first name.
When you subscribe to the mailing list we send you an email asking you to confirm your subscription. We only send you further emails after you have provided your consent by confirming you signed up for the mailing list.
When we send you an email it may include a web beacon that tells us if the email was opened and if any links in the email were clicked. Our email provider (ConvertKit) collects your approximate geographic location, to the nearest city or region, based on your Internet Protocol address when you subscribe. This is used to allow the sign up process to be customized to meet local laws.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email so you can remove yourself from the mailing list. You can also withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How We Use Your Personal Data
Website Performance And Security
Personal identifiable information included in traffic data that we collect from visitors to the Website is limited to the Internet Protocol address and is used to detect and resolve issues with the Website, maintain performance and to help us keep the Website secure.
Operation Of Mailing List
If you sign up to the mailing list we use your email address to send you articles and other relevant news. If you told us your first name when signing up we use it to personalize the email. This data is provided to ConvertKit for the purposes of delivering email to you.
We use open rates for emails to help us understand how useful our content is and to maintain the email list. We may periodically ask subscribers not opening emails to confirm they wish to remain subscribed. This helps us avoid sending to subscribers who are no longer interested in receiving emails from us.
